Why is this Baltimore Teacher fighting a student?

This is an excahnge between a teacher and a student. The teacher has been fired and the student never reported the incident. The school system became aware of it when the clip was posted on Youtube. The irony of the exchange is they both are talking about being disrespected, but they both are guilty of disrespecting each other. The teacher being the adult is expected to have more self control but in this day and age there is no telling what this teacher has or has had to endure in the course of a day. No excuse. It is just a sad exchange that shows the state of some our public schools.

Somebody please tell Rick Perry the voting age

Today Rick Perry attempted to rally the youth vote. He told the crowd if they turn 21 by election day they should vote for him. The only problem is voting age has been 18 for over 30 years. Perry seems to have a problem with numbers.

The conservatives must really hate Mitt Romney

Is this for real? The conservatives just can not seem to warm up to the frontrunner, Mitt Romney. They have had love affairs with Michele Bachmann, Rick Perry, Herman Cain and now the brand new Newt, but they still yearn for something different. Could Sarah be the Savior? If so Lord help us all.

Herman Cain is Re-Assessing His Candidacy

Ginger White might be the straw that broke the camel’s back. Herman Cain will be making a decision by week’s end whether he will continue his run for the presidency. White is the latest woman to allege some kind of inappropriate relationship with Cain. He is spending all of his time lately denying and no longer is he touting his 9-9-9 plan. It looks like the Cain Train is nearing its final stop.

My Target Gift Bag Experience

Today 11/28/11 I received a surprise in the mail. A cosmetic bag filled with goodies, and also a booklet with coupons for other products. So I look at the coupons and they expired 11/15/11. Two weeks ago. So I went on the website and there was no area for this issue. So I attempted to call the 1 800 number and I was trapped in a telphone maze with one prompt after another and not a human voice to be heard. So I thank them for the gift, but I still wish I had the coupons.

Did Herman Cain have an affair with Ginger White?

An Atlanta businesswoman Ginger White says she had a 13 year affair with Herman Cain. Now tell me why is this our business? The other women who have come forward claim he sexually harrassed them in the workplace that is far different from a consensual affair. An affair shows a moral weakness it is not an illegal act. This is simply not our business, and to see CNN Wolf Blitzer asks him did he have sex with this woman simply made me sick. Cain has his issues, but now we are witnessing the pile on. How many of the other candidates can claim the moral high ground, certanly not the newest frontrunner Newt. This stinks and I do think Ginger White is looking for her 15 minutes at the expense of Herman Cain.

Kansas governor apologizes to student over rude tweet

A Kansas teen tweeted a rude message regarding the governor to her 65 followers. Governor Sam Brownback’s staff saw her tweet while monitoring social media. The school district ordered her to write a letter of apology to the governor. She refused and now the governor has apologized he said “My staff overreacted to this tweet, and for that I apologize. Freedom of speech is among our most treasured freedoms,” the governor said in a statement. “I also want to thank the thousands of Kansas educators who remind us daily of our liberties, as well as the values of civility and decorum. Again, I apologize for our overreaction.” So the student’s freedom of speech is upheld, but what happened to respect for authority? Read the link and tell me what you think.

200 pound 3rd grader removed from the home…did the government over reach?

A child in 3rd grade is eight years old. A Cleveland 3rd grader has been removed from his home because of his obesity. He weighed 200 which is more than double the size of a typical 8 year old. He is the first child to be removed from his home in Ohio for a weight related issue. His mother’s lawyer is saying this is a case of government over reach. Where does the Unbeliever find refuge?

A reader sent me the link to a story from the New York Times about Black Atheists. I really never knew an atheist. Christians tend to associate with other Christians. The black church has always been more than a place of worship it also is a place where friendships and relationships are formed. In America we have freedom of religion, and that freedom also allows you to not be a part of any religion or to not believe in God, but this article was informative and I posted it because it is worthy of a read. Syracuse fires Bernie Fine After 3 men accuse him of inappropriate behavior

Bernie Fine worked at his alma mater Syracuse for 36 years. Tonight Bernie Fine was fired. Two men had accused Fine of abusing them when they were children, but their claims were dismissed and they were branded as two guys looking to make a fast buck. A third man has come forth making similar claims. When the first two came forth Jim Boeheim the head coach said ”The Penn State thing came out, and the kid behind this is trying to get money,” He went on to say ”He’s tried before. And now he’s trying again.” One of the accusers has a taped phone conversation with Fine’s wife which she seems to corroborate that her husband might have engaged in inapproriate behavior. This might not be like the Penn state cover up, but it is still bad and it seems some people had clues years ago that should have been investigated. Read the linked story and tell me what you think.
