Herman Cain Says He Never Sexually Harassed anyone

Herman Cain said he was falsely accused of sexual harrassment. So is this an attempt by the liberal media to take him down or is this an attempt by his competitors to stop his rise in the polls? is he the victim here or is this a case of where there is smoke there is fire? Tell me what you think.

Kim Kardashian files for divorce…does this surprise anyone?

I watch reality television, but I have my limits, and the Kardashians are the limit. I don’t watch shows that try to pass off phony relationships as real. Kim Kardashian has filed for divorce. While this is not a surprise it is obnoxious. The Kardashian wedding was featured on the E network. It was an over the top display of excess. Some would call it good television, but when you mix marriage up in a mess like this it goes from being a television show and turns into an assault on marriage. Sure most marriages now end in divorce, but most last longer that it takes the ink to dry on the marriage license. This was a total farce and while not surprised it is still a shame.

Ann Coulter Says Herman Cain is a victim of a “high tech lynching”

If only every person lived their life as if one day they would be running for president, but we don’t. We all have skeltons in our closets. Some of us have bigger closets to accomodate all the bones, but if you decide to run for president you better be prepared for someone to start digging through the bones. Herman Cain is now standing in the harsh glare of the spotlight and he seems fairly uncomfortable when faced with questions regarding claims against him dealing with sexual harrassmant. Last night Ann Coulter played the race card and said Cain was victim of a high tech lynching and how the liberals just hate a black conservative. I find it interesting that the race card is being played now in defense of this candidate. Race was not a factor in the Cain bid when everything was coming up rosey why is it now a factor? Is Cain being victimized? Tell me what you think.

Herman Cain accused of sexual harassment in the ’90s will this derail the Cain train?

When you are the frontrunner everyone is gunning for you. Today the Daily Beast is reporting that while Cain was head of the National Resteraunt Association he was accused of inappropriate behavior by two women. Both women were paid and left their positions. My question is if this is true will this sink his political aspirations or will people say this was 20 years ago and he is a changed man.

I saw this today on the MSNBC page and I wondered if this guy in the database or did he model for this picture? I also wondered if he is in the database was he compensated for the use of his likeness? I remember on the Aresenio Hall show he had a segment called “things that make you go hmm”, this would qualifiy as one of those things.

Sunday Observation: The Church Hat still Lives

When Aretha Franklin sang at President Obama’s inauguration she wore a hat. Some might describe it as a church lady’s hat. Many wondered out loud “where did she get a hat like that?” Others mocked it and I remember Ellen doing a sketch poking fun at it, but having grown up in the black church it was not odd or unusal to see Ms. Franklin in that hat. I love the hat but, now church is more casual. It is a come as you are kind of affair, but I miss those days of dressing up for church. I saw this clip and decided to share it because it shows so many lovely hats and it shows the hat is still vital and a true fashion accessory, and it just simply makes me remember days gone by.

Karen Finney says the GOP like Herman Cain because “he is a black man who knows his place”

MSNBC Martin Bashir has Goldie Taylor of The Grio and Democratic strategist Karen Finney as his guests today. They were discussing Herman Cain and whether he was actually running a serious presidential campaign. Many including me have speculated that the campaign he is actually running is to be a household name and to continue selling books. While I am not a fan of Cain I was struck by a comment made by Finney. She said that Cain makes a portion of the GOP comfortable because they view him “as a black man who knows his place.” This kind of talk is similar to Fox News which I avoid. It is unfair to paint an entire party with one brushstroke. It is simplistic to think the entire Republican party is racist. It is just as simplistic to think all Democarats are liberal. Herman Cain does not spea k to my concerns, but I would not dismiss him as “cooning” for the white folks. I think he is committed to his beliefs just like I am committed to mine, and I think it is disrespectful and dismissive to say he is viewed as a black man that knows his place.

GOP the New Black?

Really? “African-American voters have historically been a predominantly strong base for the Democratic party, but a Houston based group called Raging Elephants is looking to change that with a “GOP Is The New Black” campaign. The new billboard depicts a number of well-heeled African-American actors while trumpeting the new slogan. Its also likely to spark a debate that may include allegations of race-baiting, as well as a certain inquiry into where the funds initially came from…coming to a basic cable news program near you!
“____is the new black” is a common locution to express the sudden popularity or versatility of an idea at the expense of a second idea. It’s origins are in the NY fashion scene, initially based on black clothing not race.”* So what do you think? Do you think this will resonate with the target audience “black people” or is it simply a slick ad?

Let’s stop the nonsense Herman Cain is not running for president, but he has achieved his goal. He is now a household name and he is laughing all the way to the bank. He is currently touring the states. Not the usual campaign stops. He dropped by Iowa a few times and he has been to New Hampshire, but yesterday he was at a dog track in Texas. His ad strategy borders on the bizarre, but it still works. People are talking about him, and as they say if you are talked about you are thought about. So Cain is working this thing. When all is said and done we might not like Herman Cain but we will remember him.
