The View asks the question “is Chris Christie too fat to be president”?

The View went where others fear to thread. They asked the question is Chris Christie “too fat to be president”? Other pundits and shows are afraid to ask this question because it would be viewed as politically incorrect. Joy Behar said we have not had a fat president since Taft and she went on to say they had to make a special bath tub for him. Barbara Walters said well the people in New Jersey love him to which Whoopi Goldberg voiced her objection. She said as a resident of NJ he has not don “jack”. So is the magic of Christie a myth, and do you think an over-weight person could be elected president in this thin-obsessed culture?

I agree he is way to large to be president. I also agree with Whoopi that Chris Christie is not just fat, but he’s stupid as well. “Big Boy” just cost his state hundreds of millions of dollars and thousands of jobs by cancelling a much-needed rail project.

      >>I agree he is way to large to be president.

On what grounds? Is there a weight requirement in the US Constitution that I am not aware of? Is the White House not sufficiently reinforced for large individuals?

As far as Whoopi, she didn’t say he was stupid; you did. Christie also cancelled some loan guarantees that the MTV show “Jersey Shore” wanted because they perpetuated the myth of people in NJ being ethnic stereotypes and pretty shallow. That’s called “long term thinking”. I doubt he cost his state “thousands of jobs” by cancelling a rail project that was projected to have 1 billion in cost overruns that the state could ill afford. That too is called “long term thinking”. Whoopi may not think the governor has done anything, but he’s come in and cleaned house. The state was on the verge of being put into hock to out-of-control state employee unions who were of the impression that the state treasury was their piggy bank. As a result, the state is more solvent than it was when he came into office. That is–you guessed it–more long term thinking. Christie is popular for a reason; he’s rolling up his sleeves and getting stuff done. We need more of that in this nation.

Chris Christie is not only fat he is morbidly obese – there is a big difference. In my opinion self-control is one of the most important characteristic of a great leader. Chris has shown little self control. A person that lack self-control should not be in the White House. No one else on this board will admitted it but in America size matter.

(PS) I call him stupid not Whoopi! If you goggle his name you too can see what the people in New Jersey think about Big Man!

He is too fat! He does not set a good example for our youth; the U.S. has a crisis with obesity. In fairness, does he have a medical problems? If so, he should reveal what it is.

What does the weight of a person have anything to do with whether he should run for presidency. You people sound ridiculous, and you are hypocrites! Are we going back in time? Seems like it. You would never say a black person shouldn’t run for presidency, would you? But its okay to discriminate against fat people. And talk about role models….doesn’t our current president smoke cigarettes!? Great role model right there, bozos.

What else is this message sending to our youth? It’s telling the overweight girl, her senior year in high school, that she shouldn’t even attempt to run for class president because she’s too big! WEIGHT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH IT. JUST LIKE RACE, GENDER, ETHNICITY, HAIR COLOR, EYE COLOR, ETC. HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH IT! People need to stop this discrimination, its sickening.

Welcome hates hypocrites. You’ll get plenty of opportunities to engage your hypocrisy detector here. But you won’t need to concern yourself with determining who is stupid or anti intellectual. There are those obvious self anointed intellectuals here who can’t seem to pass up the opportunity to point out those out for the rest of us.

What difference does it make how much Christie weighs? Let’s not make the mistake of judging a presidential candidate on appearances and not on actual, demonstrated accomplishments. That’s how we got our current Chief Executive if you recall….

Fat is not a subjective description. Christie is fat. To call Whoopi ugly is subjective. It is an opinion not shared by all.

What’s the big deal? Chris weight! There’s no way in world the republican party would support Michelle Bachmann or Sara Palin for that matter if they were 200 pound plus. I believe his weight will be the one thing that will hold him back. America don’t like BIG people.
