$100,000 fine for LA Laker Kobe Bryant…is that enough?

Last night Kobe Bryant was called for his 15th technical fould of the year. He responded by calling the referee a homosexual slur. Commissioner Stern fined Bryant $100,000 for this incident. Bryant issued the following statement “What I said last night should not be taken literally.  My actions were out of frustration during the heat of the game, period.  The words expressed do NOT reflect my feelings towards the gay and lesbian communities and were NOT meant to offend anyone.” So what do you think is the fine enough should there be any other sanctions?

    It’s ridiculous

I think people need to lighten up. The word Kobe used was used in the same context as if he had said “Punk!” rather than “Fa**ot!”. No difference. In his world, they’re interchangeable, and I get that. It’s really not that deep. However, I do think he needs to go on and just pay the fine and watch his mouth in the future as obviously the word offended some people. BTW, didn’t he spend that much and more on the ring he gave his wife when he was caught cheating with that slutty girl a few years ago?

Depends … how much would he be fined for using the n word?

The fine was a PC sop to the gay and lesbian community bythe NBA to head off future reactions if they didn’t do anything. Shame on them. On the other hand, Kobe knows better.
