Charlie Sheen Defender Alex Jones on The View

This morning the ladies from The View attempted to interview Charlie Sheen confidante radio host Alex Jones. Sadly, they could not interview him because that is not what he was there for. He ranted and raved on a number of subjects unrelated to the Charlie Sheen situation. He talked about 9/11, George Bush, Wall Street and the Libyan dictator. They unsuccessfully tried to steer him back to Charlie Sheen but Jones was simply off the chain. This is the second time in two weeks that the guest has gone off the rails. The first one was Jessica Hahn when she brought up Barbara Walters’ affair with a married man. Today they had the unhinged and unruly radio host, Alex Jones. Somebody needs to really look at their booking criteria.

Charlie Sheen’s Today Show Interview Was Disturbing

This morning Charlie Sheen appeared on the Today Show to tell his side of the story. CBS made the decision to cancel his series Two and a Half men for the rest of the season. Sheen has been involved in a number of embarrasing scenerios and the network finally said enough. Sheen feels like he has been wronged and he shared his thoughts this morning. What Sheen has forgotten is he was an employee of the network. He said CBS simply did not know just how “special” he is.  He currently makes 2 million dollars an episode. He said for him to come back the network would have to apologize and raise his salary to 3 million dollars per episode. He siad they are taking money from his family. With almost a fourth of the country unemployed it is really hard to summon up sympathy for his financial plight. It would be simple to dismiss him as a prima donna who believes his own hype, but he came off as someone under the control of something.

Creflo Dollar Wants to Shoot People Who Don’t Tithe

Malachi 3:8-Will a man rob God? Yet you have robbed me. But you say, Wherein have we robbed you? In tithes and offerings.

This is the scripture that is repeated in churches when talking about tithing. If you don’t you are branded a robber of God, but God is the ultimate judge not man. So when I saw this video I was disturbed that Creflo Dollar said if not for the blood he would favor uzis as a form of punishment to those who do not tithe. What is more disturbing is that people continue to listen to ministers that say things that are contrary to the Bible. If we are in fact under the blood as Dollar states then we would not harbor what if fantasies as he clearly articulates in the tape. I am sure he was trying to make a point regarding the importance of tithing but this is not the way. This is simply wrong.

Newt Gingrich: President Obama could be impeached over Gay marriage Reversal…what do you think?

The Obama administration has announced they will no longer defend the Defense of Marriage Act. During the 2008 election the president said he would so this is a reversal, but is it unconstitutional. Newt Gingrich said Congress should consider impeachment when they return to Washington. Tell me what you think.

Finally Something Sticks to Teflon Charlie Sheen: CBS Cancels Production on Two and a Half Men

Charlie Sheen has been off the hook for a very long time. He has been arrested, cavorting with prostitutes but he always showed up for work so CBS tolerated him. He was currently on another self-imposed time out when he criticized his boss and CBS and finally they got enough. The show has suspended production for the rest of the season. I used to be a fan of the show but over the years that character went from being a jingle writing playboy to simply a sad drunk. The show seemingly had died but no one wanted to acknowledge it. Well, Charlie Sheen might not have meant to do it, but he put a fork in it. It might actually be done.

Rep. Paul Broun is asked “who is going to shoot Obama?”

At a townhall meeting in Georgia Rep. Paul Broun was asked “who is going to shoot Obama?” The question was met with laughter. One would think the congressman would take the opportunity to tell remind the questioner that violence is not the answer to political questions. No, he simply moved on and said “The thing is, I know there’s a lot of frustration with this president. We’re going to have an election next year. Hopefully, we’ll elect somebody that’s going to be a conservative, limited-government president that will take a smaller, who will sign a bill to repeal and replace Obamacare.” Rep. Broun can not be blamed for the question, but he can be blamed for his response and it was inadequate.

Kanye West Tweets on Abortion and other things

I once heard Chris Rock joke about the names that rap artists call women. Rock wondered how could women dance to songs that refered to them as bitches and hoes. Rock said the women responded well he is not talking about me as they bopped  their heads to the hot beats. Well, I guess that is the barometer one has to use when you read Kanye West’s latest tweets, but I simply can’t do that. This is not even a song these are just his thoughts and he does not seem to think to highly of women, but his fans won’t hold this against him.

Indiana Deputy Attorney General Twitter’s latest victim

The Indiana Deputy Attorney General has been fired over statements he made on Twitter. It is amazing just how much trouble 140 characters can get people into. He is just the latest victim and of course his remarks were satirical according to him. Well his employer must not have understood his satire because it was enough to get him fired.

Why was Jennifer Lopez crying last night?

I am not watching this cycle of American Idol, but somehow I keep getting drawn in. Today I saw this clip online of Jennifer Lopez crying. So what happened? She told singer Chris Medina that he has been cut from the competition. He has a sad back story, but this is a vocal competition. The judges will let some singers through and some will not make it. To the ones that don’t make it the judges are in fact dream killers. What bothers me about her reaction is the situation becomes more about her and less about the singer who has just seen his American Idol dreams shattered. I’m not questioning her sincerity, but I am saying it is really not about Lopez it is about the singers vying for their chance at stardom.

Iyanla Vanzant talks to Oprah and Tom Joyner

I watched Iyanla Vanzant on Oprah’s show yesterday and it was interesting to watch her interaction with the queen of talk. This two part interview was their attempt to quash their 11 year beef and it seems to be over. Iynala’s trevails almost rival the biblical Job. She lost her career, her daughter, her husband, her home and her money. She even thought about suicide, but she is still standing. Her tone with Oprah was almost deferential, but this morning on the Tom Joyner Show she sounded more like the self-assured woman that shared the stage with Oprah over a decade ago. She has lost everything, but she still has her faith and her mojo. Oprah asked her did she think she got “the big head”? Iyanla said no, but as a student of the Bible she should be familiar with the passage “Pride goeth before destruction and a haughty spirit before a fall.” This morning on Tom Joyner, Vanzant said she is in talks to get another show. Hopefully, it will work out for her because yesterday she said she did not even have health insurance. We may have just witnessed the beginning of a restoration period, and I  say Amen to that.
