Glenn Beck is taking the heat for comments he made about the President’s daughters, and rightfully so. The question I would ask is if the kids are off limits should the president use them in illustrations? In this case the president said his 11 year old daughter asked him if they had filled the hole yet. She was talking about the gulf oil spill. When he brings up the children it helps humanize him, and it shows that the catastrophe is affecting his personal life, so the children do offer him political points. Tell me can he have it both ways? Should they be off limits no matter no what?

I think that he should be able to. I must admit, I’m a mother hen when it comes to my kids. So someone else making comments about my kids would definitely not sit well with me either.
I don’t have a problem with it, so long as he doesn’t use them to make arguments. When Michelle Obama was making political speeches during the campagin and people addressed those issues, the president took exception by saying “lay off my wife!” Well, she stopped making political speeches and people have left her alone. Same goes for his children. If they start making political points through the children, they open up the discussion to INCLUDE their children.
His problem is that he is always in campaign mode. Although i think its deplorable for someone to mock others kids, and show such disrespect for a leader of their own country, i do feel that if you use your children in such a manner that always seem as if you are campaigning, then it should not be a stretch to think others will mock you, your words, and subsequently your children as well.
But on the other hand, Glenn Back us a subhuman individuals who manipulate and trick his elder audience into believing his crap. I mean, he compares himself to Jesus and MLK, how can be be taken seriously?
