Should Black children be Adopted by White People?

I saw the People magazine picture of Sandra Bullock with a beautiful black baby who she has adopted. In all likelihood this child will be well taken care of, but is this an ideal situation for a black child? Will this child grow up with a real sense of racial pride? Does a white mother have the ability to raise a strong black man? What is the better alternative to be adopted by a white mother or not adopted at all? The answer is to be adopted by a loving family. When I listen to critics of this kind of adoption I wonder what would they be willing to do to help a child? Most are not willing to make this kind of commitment and Bullock was so while it might not be an ideal situation it is far better situation than the child would have had if Bullock had never met him.

How come Hollywood blacks don’t adopt white babies? Oh, yeah – they’re scare..

I’m sure a few weeks on the set of “The Blind Side” gave her all the prep and training she needs to raise a strong black child…. (I’m kidding!)

I applaud her for adopting without regard to race or circumstance. I just hope she didn’t do it like some folks adopt a chic designer cockapoo as the flavor of the day. As she is adopting this young child as a single parent, she’s going to need help. She’s going to need help from people who can educate her on what she and this child need to know about this world we live in. Hard work and education should be all that’s needed for this baby’s success, but we aren’t there yet. This child may grow up in want of nothing, but eventually he will run into a racist knucklehead who will call him out simply because they are ignorant and hate filled. Unfortunately it will probably be a person of color doing it….

sorry EM, it’s a fact that we tend to be more judgmental and racist–especially towards each other–than any other racial group. God help this young boy if he grows up a conservative. He’ll get dissed openly by people of color and they won’t see any problem with it.

The fact that these questions were even posed makes me sick. The Chosen one (Obama) was raised by his white mother and white grandparents, that should be enough for any critic.
