Last week we heard of the Mike Winans Ponzi scheme. He has allegedly cheated unsuspecting church members out of as much as eleven million dollars, but the fleecing of the church comes in many forms. Televangelist Juanita Bynum is a church favorite. She and her then husband had a televised wedding that was an obnoxious display of excess. Later in the marriage they publicly fought and he subsequently pled guilty to domestic violence. Bynum fell off the radar, but she is back and she is picking up where she left off. The church is ripe for someone like her. She speaks with authority so now she is resurrecting her No More Sheets conferences. Bynum will be again giving instruction to singles regarding relationships, but how does she qualify to give this advice? It seems she might spend time working on her own issues but that aside. What would motivate someone to spend their hard earned money on this circus? Are church people simply driven by celebrity, and the fact is Bynum is a celebrity within the church world. I remember after the beating by her husband Bynum appeared on Good Morning America and declared that she was now “the face of domestic violence”, but I haven’t seen any postcards inviting anyone to any conferences on this subject, but why would she do that when she already has a paying audience in the church.
Church Folks Need to Stop Wasting Their Money

I am not surprised church folk continue to line the pockets of these fake preachers. Most church-goers are weak minded. Easily manipulated. They have to be considering they believe fables/stores are literal truth.
I agree with you in part. As a church-goer I would not consider myself weak-minded, but i do believe and I do have faith in God, not blind faith in people.
In any case its sad and dissappointing. I have a new website where strangers can pray together as a group, live – http://www.prayerharmony.com It’s pretty cool…you know when people are praying because they click a button and their chair turns a different color. We could pray for all of the people who lost money and for the minister to find truth and wisdom in his life.
