Sen. Grassley Says to AIG Executives Quit or Kill Yourself…that Might be Overkill

Sen. Grassley (R_Iowa) has suggested that AIG executives should quit or kill themselves. This comes in light of the proposed bonuses that the company will be doling out. He said “But I would suggest the first thing that would make me feel a little bit better toward them if they’d follow the Japanese example and come before the American people and take that deep bow and say, I’m sorry, and then either do one of two things: resign or go commit suicide.” Now we all know that the senator is not really suggesting that they kill themselves, but his language just indicates the frustration that the American people are experiencing. If you borrowed $5000 from your local bank they would spell out all of the specifics of your repayment as well as what they would do to you if you default on the loan. Well obviously a number of specifics and directions were not spelled out before the government started pumping millions of our dollars into this company. Hopefully this will be fixed before the government writes another check. So while Grassley’s rhetoric was harsh I can understand his frustration.
