Sarah Palin Can Balance Country and Family, but That’s Not the Problem

“I do still have grave doubts about whether a mother of five…is going to be able to put her country first.” (Sally Quinn, Washington Post) This statement is sexist. Women have been juggling family and job responsiblities for years. Granted the vice-presidency is a whole new ballgame, but if Palin were to get the job she would have an abundance of resources at her disposal. I also believe that Palin could put country first and that is the problem. We do not know enough about her to trust the country to her. She is handpicked by the McCain team and she is kept in a “glass case” that is only opened when they deem necessary. They have agreed to allow her to be interviewed by Charles Gibson. As Gibson proved in the Obama/Clinton debate he is no fan of Barack Obama so this should be carefully orchestrated for her to share her well-crafted Alaska narrative. The press does need to lay off the sexist statements, but they are only doing there jobs when they try to learn more about her than the story she has been approved to tell.

  1. Katrina, four dollar gas, a trillion dollar war, rising unemployment, deregulated housing market, global warming…no more
