Political Unity is Not Cheap Just Ask Barack Obama
Sen. Obama has agreed to help Sen. Clinton pay off her campaign debt. This is not unusual the nominee generally assists the other candidate with their debt. What makes this different is the amount of the debt. To some degree this has to be a hard pill for Obama to swallow. He is paying the cost of his opponent’s efforts to defeat him, but that’s politics. Hopefully, this will help unify the party. Clinton will now have a tangible reason to hit the trail for Obama. It might take more to entice President Clinton to join the team. President Clinton believes the Obama team stomped on his legacy, and that is something that money can not remedy. It would be a grave mistake to dismiss President Clinton from the process. He is an important player and there can be no real unity without him.
