Sen. Clinton is now resorting to race-baiting. She contends she has a wider appeal than Sen. Obama. Her contention is based on her assertion that the white working class people are drawn to her not Sen. Obama. The reality is the people who voted for her in the primaries will likely be voting Republican in the general election. Also if she had a broader appeal it stands to reason that she would have more votes. She is now playing to the lowest denominator in the electorate and that is ashame. Sen. Obama would not be in the position he is in without a coalition that includes people of all hues. Sen. Obama could not be in this position if only “eggheads and African-Americans” were voting for him. Sen. Obama’s campaign represents America not White America and Black America, but simply America. Scare tactics may have worked in the past but Americans are smarter than that and this tactic is not going to work.
